Description of Artwork:
Each individual water droplet that makes up the sea represents the fleeting nature of time passing by us. The deeper our bodies are immersed in that time, the artwork portrays the aging and dying of the 'self'. The white fish and jellyfish in the shallower waters are depicted with bright colors to express freedom and vitality. It conveys the meaning that since everyone cannot escape the passage of time and prevent death, we should always live a happy and joyful life.
Chahyun(Hailey), a fourth-year student at SSI Busan Campus, has recently achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal at the prestigious 2022 Seoul Metropolitan Association Long-Term Fencing Championship. Despite her young age, Chahyun has consistently demonstrated her dedication to the sport and has an impressive track record of accomplishments.
Notably, Chahyun's exceptional skills and hard work paid off when she clinched a gold medal at the Busan City Sports Association Club and Fellow Fencer Championship. Additionally, she showcased her talent by securing a respectable third place in the highly competitive Busan City Superintendent of Education Fencing Tournament. Chahyun's unwavering commitment to training, combined with the support and friendly competition among her senior teammates, contributed to her outstanding achievements.
SSI Busan Campus recognizes the importance of providing accessible opportunities for students to engage in fencing. To this end, the campus offers weekly fencing classes and has state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to the sport within its gymnasium. These resources are overseen by experienced instructors with an impressive repertoire of medals.
Driven by her deep passion for fencing, Chahyun will continue to devote herself to rigorous practice sessions, aiming to further enhance her skills and capabilities as an athlete. It is hoped that she will emerge as one of the leading figures responsible for shaping the future of domestic fencing. SSI Busan Campus remains committed to supporting the growth and development of its students, sparing no effort in providing continuous attention and assistance to foster their competitive edge.
We are excited to announce the launch of our new gardening program at SSIBC! With spring in full bloom, we believe it's the perfect time to cultivate a love for nature and encourage our students to explore the wonders of gardening.
Gardening provides countless benefits to young learners, fostering their connection with the environment and promoting valuable life skills. Through this program, our students will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty, witness the magic of growth, and develop a deeper understanding of where our food comes from.
As part of our gardening initiative, we have transformed a dedicated area on our school into a vibrant garden space. Equipped with raised beds, tools, and a variety of seeds and plants, this garden will serve as a living laboratory for our students to engage in hands-on learning experiences.
Our dedicated team of teachers and staffs will guide students through various gardening activities, including planting seeds, nurturing plants, and harvesting produce. These activities will not only foster teamwork and cooperation but also instill a sense of responsibility and pride in caring for our shared environment.
Through the gardening program, students also can learn about environmental sustainability, healthy eating habits, and the importance of conservation. They will witness firsthand the cycle of life, from planting and nurturing to harvesting and enjoying the fruits of their labor.
We encourage parents to get involved by sharing your knowledge, or simply engaging in conversations with your child about their gardening adventures. By working together, we can create a nurturing and educational environment that extends beyond the classroom.
We look forward to watching our students' green thumbs flourish as they embark on this exciting gardening journey. Stay tuned for updates, photos, and stories from our garden in our school newsletter and on our website.
Thank you for your continued support as we nurture young minds and cultivate a love for nature.
